Jal Mahal / Water Palace

Jal Mahal “Water Palace “is a wonderful place in the middle of man Sagar Lake. Its located 6 KM before to Amber Fort fort at Amber Fort Road outside Jaipur.

Basically it’s a historical place, built by Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 AD. As we know it’s located in the middle of the man Sagar Lake. This mansagar lake was formed by constructing a dam between the 2 hills by Sawai man Singh. This is a best example of Rajputs architecture, Jal Mahal is deployed with vast architectural.

It’s also a huge place for migrating birds. Its architectural attractive water place and it’s developed for the royal duck shooting parties & for enjoyment spot. Jalmahal has 5 floors and first to four floors submerged are in the water. Jal Mahal is a romantic place with its peace full red sandstone intricate architecture.

The 200 years old impressive Jal Mahal palace is near another popular tourists attractions Amber, Nahargarh, Jaigarh fort, and sisodia garden with kanak ghati so tourist can travel all place in a single tour.

You can have a wonderful view of the lake and the palace from Nahargarh Fort also, The Palace is not open to the public, but the location is good for an early morning or evening walk.

The best time to visit the Jal Mahal or the Water Palace is during October to march. During this period you can find many visitors from all across the world out here.
